Dr. Raton Kumar Nondy

Dr. Nondy is currently serving in the Department of EEE as a Professor and Chair. Dr.Nondy had been workining as associate professorr from July 8, 2018 to December31, 2025. . He earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Masters of Technology (M Tech) degrees in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, in 2000 and 1993 respectively. He completed his B.Sc. in Engineering degree in EEE from DUET (previous BIT) in 1989.

Before joining in IUBAT he served as Junior Instructor, Instructor(BCS Tech) ,Chief Instructor (BCS Tech Cadre)/HoD in different Govt. Institutes under the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Ministry of education , Bangladesh.He was faculty and Officer in Charge of Sylhet Engineering College (affiliated to SUST), Mymensingh Engineering College( Affiliated to DU) and Assistant Professor inTechnical Teachers Training College(TTTC), Tejgaon, Dhaka, under DTE. He also worked as Principal in charge in Mymensing Engineering college for many years. He served as officer in charge/Assitant Professor in the research and knowledge management cell, TTTC, Tejgaon. During his Govt. service he received many trainings in TTTC, BUET, NAEM, DTE, BTEB, IUT,BIM, IEB, Singapore and Delhi. He was examiner and later on chief examiner in BTEB. He was also examiner of Dhaka University during his service in Mymensingh Engineering College. He worked hard as Officer in charge/Principal in charge for affiliation of newly established Sylhet Engineering college (2007) and Mymensinngh Engineeringt College to SUST and DU respectively and succesfully achieved these for the benifits of the students.

He has published research papers in National and International Conferences and Journals. His research areas includes Power System Stability, MHD System, Smart Grid and Bigdata, Hyperstability of Power System, FACT System, Renewable Energy. Dr Nondy is a researcher of the TVET as well as a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB) and member of IEEE. He wrote a book on power system in Bangla. .He is trained in BAETE by IUBAT financing for which he conveys best compliment to IUBAT.His teaching learning process highlights Outcome Based Education (OBE).
